Geanne Krawchuk Ba, ma, ccc.

About Me

Hi! My name is Geanne Krawchuk (She/Her), and I am a former student of:

  • University of Saskatchewan (B.A. Psychology) (2017)
  • Yorkville University (M.A. Counselling Psychology) (2021)

I am a registered Canadian Certified Counsellor through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (2021).

I specialize in managing feelings of anxiety, depression, and anger. However, I also have experience working with issues such as trauma, suicidal thoughts, self-harm, ADHD, identity, and abuse.

In my approach to therapy, I use a biopsychosocial and trauma-informed approach to investigate different areas of your life that may carry stress. In treatment, I use a combined approach of talk therapy, psychoeducation, and techniques such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy, and narrative therapy to help you feel more in control of your life. I also help to explore the important mind and body connection that there is and how to work with releasing stress that gets stored in the body.

Advocacy in mental health

Help me advocate towards change in the mental health system today by visiting the following websites, signing the petitions, and sending the letter to your nearest MP:

Tax Free Therapy Canada: taxfreetherapy.ca (CCPA was successful in this - as of 2024 we no longer have to charge taxes on sessions!)

Non-Insured Health Benefits Advocacy: https://www.ccc4nihb.ca/ (To help advocate for NIHB to accept more Clinical Counsellors into the counselling stream to allow direct billing for counselling services to the Indigenous, Metis, and Inuit population - and to also allow Indigenous practitioners the allowance to serve their communities to promote traditional healing methods).

Be patient and be tough; someday the pain will be useful to you - Ovid
